We are a paediatric occupational therapy clinic where children are supported to feel confident, capable, and proud of who they are. We believe therapy should feel safe, engaging, and empowering.
By getting to know each child and their individual strengths, interests, and unique way of experiencing the world, we create meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and build everyday skills.
We can’t wait to meet you!

Everything you need to know before your first visit
Getting Started
If you have concerns about your child’s skills or overall development, especially when it’s impacting their independence in everyday tasks, occupational therapy can help.
“Occupation” simply refers to the activities that make up daily life. For children, this often includes school-related skills (such as handwriting, executive functioning, and emotional regulation), as well as self-care skills (such as dressing, feeding, and managing routines).
If you’re unsure of where to start, you are always welcome to call or email us and we will be happy to guide you through the process.
The first session is an assessment where we get to know your child’s strengths and areas of need. It includes parent discussion and play-based activities to observe your child’s skills in a natural, engaging way. We’ll share our initial observations and recommendations, and work together to determine the most appropriate next steps for your child.
Yes, all new clients start with a Watermelon OT assessment. This dedicated time allows us to develop up-to-date, individualized recommendations that are aligned with your child’s current needs, and create a thoughtful, effective plan from the start.
Though not required, please feel free to bring along any relevant reports you would like to share with us (such as a previous occupational therapy or psycho-educational report).
For feeding assessments, your therapist will ask you to bring along some familiar foods for demonstration purposes.
During the winter months, we ask that children wear indoor shoes.
Other than that, just bring your child as they are. We will have everything prepared.
Booking in & Scheduling
You may book directly through our online booking portal, Jane. If you would prefer, you may also call or email us to help with booking in.
Our waitlist fluctuates and we do our best to ensure that children are seen within a reasonable time whenever possible. If no appointments are available, you’re welcome to join our waitlist and we will reach out as soon as a spot opens up.
No referral is required. You’re welcome to book directly with us at any time.
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes. This allows us to offer the appointment to another family and respects our therapists’ time.
Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee.
Ongoing Sessions
Sessions are play-based, individualized, and designed around your child’s goals and interests.
We focus on building skills in a way that feels engaging and supportive, while also providing guidance and strategies you can carry over at home.
Sessions are typically 45 or 60 minutes, depending on your child’s needs and goals.
Weekly sessions are the most common starting point, though frequency will depend on your child’s individual needs. Each appointment, whether an assessment or treatment session, is a standalone service, so there’s no requirement to commit to ongoing therapy.
Parent involvement depends on your child and their therapy goals. This may look like observing, participating, or checking in at the end of the session.
Billing & Insurance
Our services are provided under occupational therapy and may be eligible for reimbursement through your insurance plan. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm your specific coverage prior to booking. You will receive a detailed receipt after each session with all required information for submission. Services are billed under the child’s name, and we do not offer direct billing at this time.
Occupational therapy services are eligible for Ontario Autism Program (OAP) funding. We recommend confirming your eligibility and any specific requirements with your OAP caseworker prior to booking. You will receive a detailed receipt after each session with all required information for submission.
